Friday

Today we did tons of stuff.  We finished our posters.  We worked on Wordle.  We wrote our autobiographies.  The kids shared their writer’s notebooks.  It’s been a long, fun week.  We all agreed that a nap will probably be needed after school today.  Oh yeah, one more thing, we decided on the class constitution.  At the last second, we completely changed our plan.  Please ask your child what the classroom constitution is.  We all have it memorized already.  What smart kids!

Welcome Back!

We had a wonderful first day of school!  In the morning, we talked about school rules and procedures.  We also went to an assembly where we met Mr. Hartley.

Before lunch we attended Gym class with Mr. Manchester.  After lunch we read a book called First Day Jitters and discussed how some kids might be nervous on the first day.

We went over folder system for the classroom (each subject has a color) and the planner system.  Kids are responsible for writing down all homework in their planners each day.  The teachers sign the planner at school, then the parents sign the planners at home each day.

Then we had a short recess and went to bus families, which is a short activity to help kids get acquainted with the kids on their bus.

Have a Great Day!
Mr. Seley

Homework:

  • Decorate your writers notebook.  A letter was sent home describing this.
