Thank you!

Hi Everyone!
I would like to express my gratitude to all the parents who helped make today's party so amazing!  The kids really enjoyed it.  And, I'd like to thank everyone for the thoughtful gifts.

Wednesday

4th:  5.4 MJ and SL.
3rd: 15 minutes IXL
Read 20/30 minutes
Paragraph practice due Friday!
3rd : finish online study sheet
     4th grade only!
Extra Challenge (was due today):
Please choose a family car to take on the trip on page (MJ, pg 113), find out the gas mileage (use the car manual or www.edmunds.com), find out the price of gas, and compute the cost of the road trip (round trip). Parents can help with this—as needed.  Kids can also use calculators. Super Extra Challenge (due Friday): Kids can plan a road trip of their choosing—possibly one their family could actually go on.  They should compute the total cost including: cost of hotels/campgrounds, cost of food, cost of tolls, and cost of gas.  I will not be picky about how this is calculated.  The point is for students to problem solve and combine their math skills to solve a real-life problem.  Parent support and guidance is encouraged.
Both of these challenges will help students develop the skill necessary for 5+ math.
